Highlights! Cheick Kongo GNPs Tim Johnson at Bellator 208

For a guy that wasn’t even included in Bellator’s much ballyhooed Heavyweight Grand Prix, Cheick Kongo sure has racked up a pretty solid winning streak. His latest win at Bellator 208 is his 7th in a row and second first round KO in a row. After a two year period of nothing but decisions, Kongo seems to have recaptured his finishing spirit.

In this case, Kongo TKO’d Tim Johnson just 1:08 into their fight. A right hand from the French fighter as Johnson shot for a takedown was the beginning of the end. Johnson ended up with his back on the canvas and Kongo’s knee on his chest. A quick series of ground and pound punches had the NYSAC ref stepping in and stopping things. Watch it here:

With this loss, Tim Johnson drops to 12-5 and continues a win-loss pattern that stretches back to 2015.
