Hearn reportedly makes multi-fight offer to Wilder

Hearn reportedly makes multi-fight offer to Wilder

The offer supposedly includes a bout against Anthony Joshua.

According to Mike Coppinger, sources have confirmed that Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn has made a multi-fight offer to Deontay Wilder, presumably to fight on DAZN. The second fight of the proposed deal would include an undisputed heavyweight title unification match with Anthony Joshua.

SOURCES: Eddie Hearn extended a multi-fight offer to Deontay Wilder last night, but as of now, still hasn’t heard back. Second fight of proposed deal would be unification with Anthony Joshua

As mentioned in his tweet, Hearn hasn’t received a response to his offer at this time, but Showtime executive Stephen Espinoza made it a point to show that he isn’t impressed anyway…

But because neither a contract nor proof of funds was sent, the offer must not be real, right???

It seems all the major forces in boxing — managers, promoters, networks, etc. — have been jostling for position for any permutation of Joshua, Wilder, and Tyson Fury, but we don’t seem to be close to any of those fights at the moment.

But at least one thought is that with Tyson Fury aligning himself with Top Rank and ESPN (precluding a rematch with Wilder for the time being), and Wilder not being contractually tied to any network, there’s at least an opportunity to revisit the whole Joshua-Wilder conversation.

Of course those talks have gone nowhere fast before, and there’s no real reason to believe that they’ll go anywhere now all of the sudden, but it’s something to talk about…
