The former titleholder will look to bounce back.

Former super bantamweight titleholder TJ Doheny will return to action on this Saturday’s Usyk-Witherspoon card, which will stream live on DAZN, in a catchweight return from his first pro loss.

Doheny (21-1, 15 KO) lost the IBF 122-pound title on Apr. 26 in a Fight of the Year contender war with Daniel Roman, and on Saturday he’ll fight journeyman Jesus Martinez with a contracted weight of 124 pounds.

The 32-year-old Doheny, an Irishman based in Australia, went to Japan and won the IBF belt in Aug. 2018, beating Ryosuke Iwasa. He made a successful defense in January with a win in New York over Ryohei Takahashi.

Martinez (26-9, 13 KO) is coming off of an eight-round decision loss to prospect Brandon Valdes on Aug. 24. The 38-year-old Colombian is 0-8 outside of his native country, and shouldn’t be much of a threat to Doheny, who will look to get a win and figure out where to go next.
