Andres Gutierrez is out after missing weight by an absurd amount.

Former featherweight titleholder Oscar Valdez is still moving up to 130 pounds tomorrow night in an ESPN+ main event from Las Vegas, but he’s got a new opponent.

Valdez (26-0, 20 KO) was originally slated to face Andres Gutierrez in the 10-round main event, but Gutierrez weighed in at 141 pounds, far over the contracted limit, obviously, and putting Julio Ceja’s 4.5-pound miss last weekend to shame.

This was obviously too big a whiff to let the fight go forward, so Adam Lopez (13-1, 6 KO) will now step in to face Valdez. Lopez, 23, was slated to face Luis Coria as part of the undercard in a featherweight bout. It’s not a terrible substitution given the situation, and Gutierrez was going to be a huge underdog, too, so Lopez being one doesn’t change much. Lopez’ one defeat came by majority decision against Stephen Fulton about two years ago, and Fulton has proven to be a quality fighter.

The co-feature between Carl Frampton and Tyler McCreary is good to go, as is the main card opener between Carlos Adames and Patrick Teixeira, which is now for an interim WBO title at 154, with the winner probably getting pushed to full title status at the next WBO convention, as Jaime Munguia is moving up to 160.
